K-0041 - William Dexter Babbitt
He qualified for the European-African-Middle-Eastern Campaign Medal with one Bronze Service Star, the World War II Victory Medal, the Honorable Service Lapel Button World War II, and the Purple Heart. From the 10th to the 12th of July, 1944 the 90th Infantry Division was engaged in battle for Mont Castre (Hill 122), part of the German Mahlman Line in Normandy. His membership application states "Active", but at the time the options appeared to only be "Active" and "Honorary". Later he was a Scouting Advisor, but whether he initiated as an advisory or active member is uncertain. The Spring, 2001 pledge class was named in his memory. |
